The Course
Softening to the Moonlit Flowers is a journey to the sensitive, sensual and subtle self. Toward parts of us that are so often dried up or banished in the oppressive nature of dominant culture’s hetero-patriarchy and toxic productivity.
What happens when we allow water to touch us, move us and soften us?
What happens when we turn down the volume, slow down the movement, and invite in spaciousness and sensual sensitivity?
What happens when we fully see ourselves as sacred, a being born from the holy wild, tied to the moon and all her faces?
Over this five week journey, we allow the nurturing waters of emotion and self-adoration wash over us like a lapping lake. We open ourselves to receiving the love of Earth, cultivating wholeness and self love in a way that is sovereign and self-generated. We reclaim our sensual nature by surrendering to the subtle pleasures of our soft animal bodies—from monsoon raindrops tickling the skin to the rising of goosebumps upon hearing a poem of resonance.
In our softening, we become permeable to the wild Earth in a way that nourishes and enlivens us. Soaking in these waters, we slough away the calcified barriers that separate us from our own unique gifts, our power. In the subtleties under the moonlight, we may glimpse our incredible worthiness, our potent medicine to the world, and how to embody it.
This course is a romance with ourselves and with the land. It is a process of remembering how to be whole and fully human by reclaiming what has been deemed unworthy by the unrealistic societal standards of beauty, body image, gender roles, productivity, and accomplishment. It is the heroine’s journey toward fullness.

Your Guides
Madison LedgerwoodMadison embodies the mirror that reflects back to you that you are of the earth: whole, beautiful, perfect, and powerful. Her unique gift is to guide you toward remembering that you are sacred and holy, and in that knowing, she helps you uncover your most mysterious gifts for the world, your best contributions to justice. With her as your guide, you will step into a portal of remembering, where you can sing, sleep, dream, and be in the sensual pleasure of being in kinship with the more-than-human community. She helps you shift ever more fully into the magic of life on earth and the meaning of your precious life amidst the shadows, dark depths, mysteries, climate crisis and injustices of these times.
Madison believes in collective liberation through individual and community-based healing work that intimately honors the holy wild. When she was a kid, her grandparents taught her to remember that home was in the wild. With support from elder community activists, Madison has been a community organizer and leader in social and environmental justice movements for over a decade, including her masters work in the Sustainable Communities program. Through her intensive trainings and personal work with mentors at the Animas Valley Institute, Madison brings her skills in somatic experiences, dreamwork, soul work, ceremony and ritual, and psychospiritual resourcing to all she does. These human and other more-than-human mentors primed Madison to guide people through their individual and collective trauma to remember they are sacred- a knowing held in our blood and bones, that the earth wants to remind all of us. Jacqueline ThompsonMy unique niche as a Wildness guide is in creatively curating experiences and the proper containers for self-exploration and expression. I help to remind humans how to tune into the rhythms of the natural world, how to access their erotic and creative life force, and how to bring the wild into practical practice. I do this by shining light into the places that are shadowy and dark—unveiling taboo and changing not what we see, but how we see it.
As a musician, poet and romantic, I embody my message every day. It is not a choice, but a calling to lean ever more deeply into my courtship with inner Muse and the wellspring of my deep imagination and creative potential. To do this work, I must be in healthy relationship with my eroticism and wildness. The thread that I have followed for over a decade is in looking at relationships. The Nature-human relationship, romantic relationships, and our relationship with ourselves and our souls. It is a thread that pulls me into the depths of wild places and the wild me. I always circle back to reconnection, always with a hidden agenda to touch the soul of the Earth with my own. With an academic background in Environmental Studies, Yoga and Herbalism; a professional foundation as a mountain and wilderness guide; a body and mind shaped by the outdoors; an inspired pursuit of nature-based therapeutics and eroticism; and over a decade-long journey with soul work and yoga—I have forged a path that weaves together the themes of environmental and human well-being. |
Softening to the Moonlit Flowers is the first of a two-part collaboration series by Wild Wayfarer and Remembering Earth designed to rekindle our connection and relationship with the wild waters of our soft and sensual nature in order to touch the seed of our essence and gifts to the world.
